I have been part of Smilepod since 2020. My journey in the field of dentistry began more than 15 years ago, and I have since then worked in various roles, from dental nurse to management. My passion for dentistry and dedication to my career have led me to gain extensive experience and knowledge within both Dentistry and Cosmetics.
I am incredibly passionate about customer service. As Practice Manager, I utilize my warm and friendly approach to make all patients feel welcome and at home within Smilepod as soon as they arrive.
At Smilepod, I focus on the day-to-day operation of the clinic and ensuring that the very highest standards of patient care are maintained. I am always available to address any concerns or issues our patients may have, and I go above and beyond to make sure they are satisfied with their visit.

Our Moorgate dental studio is unlike your traditional dentist. We are located in a modern office building with friendly staff to greet you and make you feel comfortable upon your arrival. We know that visiting the dentist can sometimes be an anxiety inducing experience, so our team are doing their best to combat any worries. In Moorgate, we have three fully equipped modern Dental Pods. Our Pod 2 has an amazing view of the army barracks grounds, and if you’re lucky you may be able to see the army force helicopter land.

Dr Ilze Der Merwe joined Smilepod as our first South African dentist so far and has quickly become exceptionally popular. Ilze has been practising dentistry for over ten years and still never tires of taking training and new courses. Ilze recently won the record for the most Invisalign cases out of all our Smilepod dentists. She is passionate about both cosmetic and restorative dentistry and will always go the extra mile for her clients. Ilze is available at Moorgate on Wednesdays and Fridays and she also works in our Canary Wharf studio.
Dr Erica Zelesco received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Rio de Janeiro University in 2016, supplemented by extracurricular credits from De Montfort University in Leicester.
Dr Zelesco is a true advocate of Non-Invasive Dentistry, she prioritises minimal intervention methodologies combined with innovative technologies. She is also committed to empowering her patients by educating them and providing all the necessary information to ensure they feel engaged in their treatment journey. In addition, Dr Zelesco offers Cosmetic and Invisalign treatments, recognising the profound impact that a beautiful, natural smile can have on individuals’ daily lives and their self-confidence.
Mitul began his professional career as a teacher of biology and chemistry before completing the accelerated graduate dentistry programme at King’s College London, where he graduated with honours.
He later completed a master’s degree in Endodontics at the prestigious UCL Eastman Dental Institute. Mitul’s passion for endodontics is evident in his dedication to both his students and patients. He has presented endodontic research at international conferences and authored articles published in the British Dental Journal.
Hi, I’m Simone, originally hailing from Brazil. I have proudly served as a Dental Nurse at Smilepod since March 2022. My journey in the world of dental nursing commenced when I was just 17, and it’s a role that resonates with me naturally.
I would describe myself as a kind, helpful, and understanding individual. Caring for our patients and addressing their needs comes as second nature to me. I take immense pride in ensuring that our patients feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed within our clinic.
My job brings me immense joy, as it means I get to work alongside a diverse team of specialists and engage with wonderful people on a daily basis. What truly warms my heart in my current role is witnessing the profound impact that dentistry can have on someone’s life, especially when restorative treatments help self-conscious patients regain their confidence.
Beyond the practice, I savour socializing and cherish moments spent with family and friends. You can often find me at church, whipping up delightful dishes in the kitchen, unwinding, or embarking on adventures to discover exciting new places.
I look forward to each day with a smile, knowing that I have the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those I meet.
From Moorgate Underground:
From Moorgate Underground, a quick 3-minute walk awaits. Take the Moorfields, London Wall & Barbican Centre exit. Upon exiting, turn right, cross the road, and take the second left cut-through. Walk towards Pret (on your left), passing a newsstand on your right. Pass between the City Point buildings until you see Wagamama on your left. Take a left turn, followed immediately by a right at the tall Heron building into Moor Lane. Proceed along Moor Lane until you reach 24 Chiswell St, where Smilepod is located on the ground floor, well signposted inside the building.
From Liverpool Underground Station:
From Liverpool Underground, it's an approximately 10-minute walk. Exit Liverpool Street Station and head northeast toward Blomfield Street. Turn right onto Blomfield Street, then left onto New Broad Street, followed by a right onto London Wall. Walk along Moorgate until you reach South Place Hotel. From there, continue on Silk Street until you reach Chiswell Street. Proceed along Chiswell Street until you arrive at 24 Chiswell Street, where Smilepod is located on the ground floor.
