Biography

Dr Vanessa da Mata is a compassionate and highly experienced dentist with over 20 years in the field.
She graduated in Dentistry from a prestigious Brazilian Federal University in 2002 and completed her first Post-Graduate program in Orthodontics in 2005.
In 2010, she earned her specialization in Orthodontics in Brazil and has since been offering personalized orthodontic care using both fixed braces and clear aligners, successfully treating cases from simple to highly complex.

Further broadening her clinical expertise, in 2015, Dr Vanessa completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Implantology in Brazil.
She has been practicing in Europe since 2016 becoming part of the Smilepod team in 2024.
Known for her warm and attentive approach, Dr Vanessa brings a human perspective to each patient relationship. She is deeply committed to offering her very best, always striving to meet expectations while respecting each person’s unique biological limits.
To ensure the highest standard of care, she continuously updates her knowledge through dental congresses and ongoing training.

Outside of her professional life, Dr Vanessa enjoys staying active, traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending meaningful time with her daughter and friends.

Had an appointment with Vanessa, the dental hygienist today. She was very gentle and session was without any pain unlike other hygienists I’ve tried before. It was a great experience and I will definitely be going back to see her again.

I had been dealing with gum recession on my lower front teeth for quite some time, mainly due to naturally thin gum tissue, a tight frenum, and the presence of a fixed retainer. After a previous graft attempt years ago that wasn’t successful, I was understandably nervous about trying the procedure again.However, my experience with Dr. Hygino completely changed my perspective. He recommended and performed an epithelialized gingival graft, carefully explaining how this approach would provide additional support and protection to the affected area. From the very beginning, I felt I was in capable and knowledgeable hands.The surgery itself went smoothly, and I’m happy to say the results have been a great success!! The improvement is noticeable, and I feel much more confident about my gum health now.What truly stood out to me was the level of care and support during recovery. Whenever I had questions or concerns, Dr. Hygino was always quick to respond—even via WhatsApp—which made a huge difference in easing my worries.I highly recommend Dr. Hygino to anyone considering graft surgery.
